International relations

I am a candidate for Master's program at Suffolk University in Boston. I am fluent in English and Spanish. Interested in international politics, economic, history and development. Currently working for an advocacy non for profit organization in downtown Boston. Member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science National Honor Society. Looking forward to meet like-minded young professionals.

I am a recent graduate of Colgate University looking for an intern or volunteer experience in the Boston area. My major was in history with a minor on Peace & Conflict Studies and I am interested in pursuing opportunities with regards to conflict resolution and the United Nations.

A major focus of my studies was peacekeeping, particularly on cooperation between the UN and other regional organizations in such operations. While missions undertaken in this vein have unique capabilities they have also have proven to be weak in key areas, as evidenced by the experience of such missions as the ongoing operation in Darfur undertaken by the UN and AU.

I feel that better a better understanding of the situation on the ground gained through comprehensive research is the first step in improving the effectiveness of such operations. As such I am looking for a research opportunity as I move towards a post-graduate education.
