Job Opening: Looking for Assistant Director at Kokkalis Harvard Program

Duties & Responsibilities:
This position assists in planning and implementing the Kokkalis Program's core initiatives: fellowship programs, lecture series, conferences, internships, alumni programs and outreach.
The position also monitors the program budget and financial transactions on a monthly basis and is largely responsible, in consultation with director, for creation of annual budget.
Specifically:
Disseminates information on the fellowship, internship and executive programs and serves as main liaison for most incoming inquiries. Conducts information sessions abroad on fellowships and interviews fellowship applicants abroad. Coordinates fellowship application processes, including liaising with relevant HKS departments, and participates in granting of fellowship of awards.
Mentors Kokkalis fellows and other HKS students interested in engaging with the region of focus and is responsible for design and execution of co-curricular activities.
Helps to plan, oversee and execute lecture series.
Oversees the organization of the Kokkalis executive training program, including development of curriculum, coordinating faculty participation and recruiting participants. Also attends executive program abroad and is responsible for its implementation.
Serves as main liaison with Kokkalis Program alumni and primary coordinator of alumni outreach activities, including: maintaining alumni database; preparing e-newsletter; contributing content to alumni website; coordinating faculty participation in alumni activities.
Communicates with internal Harvard as well as external constituents (NGOs, public entities etc), including reviewing proposals for collaboration.
Provides limited communication and public relations support for events, and writes collateral/informational materials/ as well as periodic and annual summaries on Program activities.
Also assists with the administration of the Luksic Fellowships for Croatia (recruiting, interviewing, degree and executive fellows selection, as well as student mentoring).
Supervises 2 staff and helps to guide their input into Program’s activities.
Assists with other projects as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Master's degree in international relations or public policy (or closely related field) and 5 or more years for professional experience.
Demonstrated knowledge (through substantive study and professional experience) of the history, politics, socio-economic conditions, public and NGO sectors in South East Europe (Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, FYROM, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey) required.
Additional Qualifications Experience, working in an academic institution/think tank/NGO/public sector focused on Southeastern Europe and in mid level administration preferred. Experience liaising with high level constituents from public and other sectors. Experience in budget administration. Knowledge of existing social science research/body of literature relative to SE Europe. Must have strong communication and presentation skills and ability to write simply, analytically and quickly and to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Fluency in language(s) of the region strongly preferred.
Must be willing to travel to the region frequently.
