Our thanks to these four very accomplished local professionals who consented to be interviewed about their involvement in international development, the path they took to get where they are today, and any advice they have for professionals just starting out.

Jeffrey Ashe - Jeffrey Ashe is the Manager of Community Finance for Oxfam America. A former Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador, he has worked with ACCION International, was head of the PISCES project, and started his own company, Working Capital, which worked on domestic microfinance.

L. David Brown – L. David Brown is the Associate Director for International Programs of the Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations at the Kennedy School of Government. A former Peace Corps volunteer, he has been a professor of action research for organizational change at Case Western Reserve University and Boston University and is the founder of the Institute for Development Research in Boston.

Michael Gibbons - Michael Gibbons is currently an independent consultant. A former Peace Corps volunteer, he has worked and consulted with CARE, Save the Children, Banyan Tree Foundation, UNICEF, and CRS, and sits on the boards of several other international NGOs.

Dilip Mookherjee - Dilip Mookherjee is Professor of Economics at Boston University. Originally from Calcutta, India, he has worked with the Indian government on its transition to a market economy and on tax reform in various countries. He actively participates in conferences, summer schools, and trainings for students of development economics around the world.
