Dear BNID Community,

I’m writing with spectacular news – please join me in welcoming Lauren Scribi as BNID’s new Executive Director. Lauren comes to us with a range of experiences in the Massachusetts State Legislature and in the private sector. After a competitive hiring process, Lauren emerged as the best candidate to lead BNID through a time of strategic growth. We are confident Lauren will lead our community to even greater success. Welcome!

With a new Executive Director at the helm and an expanded Board of Directors providing leadership and vision, BNID is entering an exciting phase of growth. This summer, our Board will embark on a strategic planning process to guide our actions as an organization in the years ahead. Our mission of connecting groups and individuals concerned with international development and global justice is not possible without your continued engagement. As we plan for the future, Lauren and the Board will engage with you to ensure this organization continues to be a useful network that serves your needs.

On behalf of the BNID Board of Directors, I would also like to thank Jon Shaffer for over two years of service to BNID as Executive Director. His tenure has seen the incorporation of BNID expand its network of partners, offer more opportunities for in-person connection than ever, and be incorporated as an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit. We wish Jon well as he continues to pursue his PhD at Boston University.

With best wishes,

Michael
Chair, BNID Board of Directors

About the Author

  • Lauren Scribi

    BNID Executive Director

The Boston Network for International Development (BNID) was founded in 2004 with the goal of serving as a point of connection for groups and individuals in the Boston area who are concerned with issues of international development (ID) and global justice. BNID was re-established by Adam B. Korn, Esq. who served as BNID’s Director from 2010-2017. Through connecting with each other locally, individuals and organizations of all types – private and nonprofit, academic and professional, informational and activist – can have a greater impact globally.
